Pausing For Breath

Friday, February 17th, 2006

micah the podcast puppyIN BETWEEN the “I don’t give a damn” of Friday afternoon and the “We’re gonna take this hill, boys!” of Monday morning, there’s a special place. That place is called Pausing For Breath. Does it involve navel-gazing, ambient music and improbable physical contortions? Hell no! This is where you sit back and let someone else do the talking for a change.

PFB (as we like to call it) alternates between a talk format and a storytelling series. In Tales From PFB we’re currently serialising Fence People – yarns from the Dingo Fence. In vanilla PFB this week, your host talks about home renovations, Australian conscience-vote political craziness, how hot the world is, and more. It’s 30 minutes of… stuff!

For your convenience, the promo is in two formats – shorter and longer… although even the short one is surprisingly long:

Being Ignored: It Hurts!!

Friday, February 17th, 2006

Whether it’s ‘the silent treatment’ from a loved one, a neighbour not responding to a hello, or even a kids game of musical chairs, it hurts to be excluded and it’s something we can all relate to.

On Mr. Nice Guy Show #261, we hear from an internationally prominent psychologist, researcher, author and professor on the subject of ostracism. He tells us about why people do it, the serious effects, and how to react.

Here’s the 50-second promo

The Mr. Nice Guy Show!

A fun look at our world, pop-culture and news from Marv,
reference librarian and former radio personality
Like radio used to be and still should be:
‘make you think and make you smile,
no greed, no hatemongering, no talking down

Thanks!!

Digital Graffiti Podcast Promo

Wednesday, February 15th, 2006

Hey everyone, and Adam

I’ve been listening to “The Charlie” since March of ‘05 and I love the show. My promo is rather straightforward and to the point and recorded while I’m still working bugs out of my recording rig. Enjoy!
